What should you expect from a Massage?
Your appointment will consists of reviewing Health History, Orthopedic Assessment, Treatment and Home Care.
Health History
This is an intake form to fill in with questions about consent to treatment, why you are seeking massage therapy, and your personal health history, it is important to keep this information up to date. If anything changes it is important to let your RMT know.
Orthopedic Assessment
This is when further intake is obtained through special testing, postural analysis, and gait analysis. This is always specific to your condition in order to set up the most effective treatment plan for you. With specific treatment these changes are always monitored and recorded.
Treatment
Whether it is a One Hour or Half Hour Appointment – This is YOUR treatment so it is always fully explained and you have the right to change or modify at any time! All benefits and risks associated with the treatment will be fully explained as well as any changes to your treatment plan. You can be assured that all techniques used are specific, professional, effective and leading edge.
Home Care
Now its your turn! You will be given some simple home-care techniques to continue to reach your goals. This could include anything from a few relieving stretching/strengthening techniques to an entire fitness plan. All techniques will be instructed and performed to ensure complete comprehension. Be honest about what you have done and if you have any difficulties so that your RMT can make it fit you and/or your situation better.
